ECLI-VIBES serves victims of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

We provide a variety of services that are critical to the wellbeing of survivors – from a 24-hour Hopeline, to counseling programs, advocacy and legal assistance, Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) program, a housing program and a fully-stocked community food pantry.

24 Hour Hopeline

ECLI-VIBES maintains a 24-hour hotline, or “Hopeline,” that is available to all members of the community who are seeking crisis intervention, emotional support, information on victim rights, and appropriate resources.

Counseling

ECLI-VIBES offers free and confidential counseling services to survivors of violence and abuse, including children as young as 3 years old.

  • Both individual and group counseling is available.

Advocacy Program

Providing advocacy services is a crucial component of the offerings ECLI-VIBES extends to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.

  • The advocacy department at ECLI-VIBES comprises a team of experts and advocates that specialize in three primary areas: court advocacy, youth advocacy, and Latinx community advocacy.

Legal Program

The ECLI-VIBES Legal Department provides free, confidential legal assistance to our community of survivors, focusing on the areas of family, immigration, criminal and civil law.

  • Attorneys provide compassionate assistance in navigating the justice system, and are available to accompany clients in court hearings, attend meetings with law enforcement, and provide office consultations.

  • As part of the advocacy department, ECLI-VIBES operates a youth program that offers support and mentorship to children and teens who have experienced trauma and/or substance use in their family.

Studies show that youth experiencing trauma, mental health issues and substance abuse have better outcomes when they have access to at least one supportive adult.

The youth mentorship program at ECLI-VIBES is designed to be a safe space where youth can become young adults and realize their potential to grow as leaders in their community.

The goal of the program is to provide positive social interaction and empower youth and teens to work towards being the best version of themselves, ultimately reaching their personal goals and creating a future free from criminal activity and violence.

Youth participating in the ECLI-VIBES program are matched with a mentor based on a variety of factors, including interests, needs and sometimes a court order. Together, the youth and mentor identify and set attainable goals to work towards.

Typically a mentorship will last six-12 months, however, it may be extended further if additional support is needed to reach individual goals.

  • The Housing Program is designed to provide financial support for long-term housing for victims of trauma, specifically those experiencing or fleeing domestic violence (including sexual assault and rape), experiencing human trafficking or suffering from homelessness.

The goal of the program is to set individuals up for success and help them on their path to independence and healing, starting with a safe and stable place to live.

  • For more than 20 years, ECLI-VIBES has been providing compassionate support and comprehensive medical care to victims of sexual assault and rape.

Our Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) program operates exclusively within Suffolk County and includes partnerships with four main hospitals: Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, Long Island Community Hospital, Peconic Bay Medical Center, and Stony Brook University Hospital.

An incredible team of registered, clinical nurses are on call 24/7 to respond to hospital calls of patients who have been sexually assaulted or raped. Nurses have completed specialized, rigorous training to become sexual assault nurse examiners and are certified by the New York State Department of Health.

  • The Anti-Human Trafficking Program at ECLI-VIBES is designed to support individuals who have experienced human trafficking and help them through the complex issues they face as result of their experience.

ECLI-VIBES takes a holistic approach to addressing human trafficking, providing survivors with a range of cost-free services, such as advocacy, legal support, SAFE exams, housing and counseling, with priority on ensuring the individual’s most immediate needs are met.

Community Food Pantry

ECLI-VIBES has been operating a Community Food Pantry since 2022, when it became evident that food insecurity was a growing problem for our clients.

What started as a small closet with a few shelves has blossomed and transformed into a beautiful, dedicated space that is always stocked with fresh produce, meats, and a variety of quality food items.

We offer a warm, welcoming space where clients can comfortably choose the food for their families, rather than receiving a pre-packaged bag.

Volunteer Program

ECLI-VIBES offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for those looking to support the community and make a difference in the lives of those who have been affected by violence and abuse.

Volunteers play a crucial role in helping us carry out our mission, and we are always looking for compassionate, dedicated individuals to join our team.

Volunteer opportunities are available for both groups and individuals and can be tailored to a person’s interests, skills and level of time commitment. We welcome and can accommodate students wishing to fulfill community service requirements.

Examples of volunteer opportunities range from short-term projects or a one-time event, to assisting in our Community Food Pantry or regularly working with the agency to support our community education efforts.

Internship Program

At ECLI-VIBES we value the opportunity to nurture and develop the next generation of human service professionals. Our dedicated staff offer their time and expertise to teach and influence students in their field placement at ECLI-VIBES.

OUR APPROACH

Client-centered

Our approach is led by the client rather than the other way around. You are the expert in your own life and so we allow you to tell us what you need. There is NO judgement ever and nothing is ever expected in return for our support.

Empowerment

Empowerment is power reclaimed. We believe empowered individuals shape their own outcomes and break cycles of trauma.

Trauma-informed

We take a survivor led approach to ensure services and policies take into account the impact of trauma on our clients. This includes being responsive to individual needs and aware of potential triggers, and using a strengths-based approach to empower and help clients build resilience.

A safe space where magic happens.

We strive to offer a space in which you can feel confident you won’t be exposed to discrimination, criticism, harassment, or any other emotional or physical harm. We believe when a client feels safe, healing can occur.
