Gina holds a Master’s Degree in Reading & Professional Studies in Special Education from Adelphi and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from CUNY College of Staten Island. She has devoted her adult life to education and service of others. A Brooklyn native, Ms. Ocello began as an elementary education teacher of ad-risk students for the New York City Department of Education. After relocating to Suffolk County, Gina became an instructor of reading to students with disabilities at Suffolk Community College. While at the college, she became one of the coordinators of the Take Back the Night Project against domestic violence and has worked closely with several organizations including Empowerment Collaborative of Long Island. She welcomes the opportunity to utilize her skills and compassion as Team Leader of New York Project Hope through E.C.L.I.
